                          Top10 supercars

Bugatti Veyron Supersport

Since it’s introduction in 2005, the The Bugatti Veyron has been the most sought after, powerful, and fastest supercar in the world!
If you have a need for speed and have the mountains of cash to buy the most expensive car in the world, it just doesn’t get much better than the Bugatti Veyron Supersport!
The Bugatti hits 0-62 mph in less than 3 seconds at 2.4 seconds. The progression in hitting given metrics for the Veyron SS include 150mph at 10 second, 186 mph at under 15 seconds, and in less than a minute, you could be going as fast as 245 mph.
The first five cars that came off the line in 2010 were sold as a limited “World Record Editions” after clocking a staggering record of 267.9 miles per hour at Volkswagons test tracks in Germany. Priced at 2.4 million dollars (2.08 million Euros at time of purchased) each, the first five immediately sold out.
Our search for the worlds top ten supercars might have ended before it has even begun with this bad boy kicking things off!

Hennessey Venom GT

We have seen the title of the worlds fastest production car being passed fromBugatti Veyron SS and Americas SSC over recent years, but with the introduction of the Hennessey brand there is another big player in the game!

The American tuner, best known for its mind-blowing Vipers, Camaros and Cadillacs, is looking to set a new title with their new Supercar, the Venom GT.

The Venom GT has a reputation for being the world’s maddest supercar. Or really, we should say “hypercar” because this ballistic missile for the road has stormed from 0-100km/h in a mind boggling 2.4-seconds. Yep… 2.4 seconds!

Koenigsegg Agera R 2013

Koenigseggs have produced some fine supercars over the years and the 2013 Agera R is set to be the result of Koenigseggs endless pursuit for perfection.

The Agera R is the only roadster Hypercar with a detachable and stowable hardtop, bringing the best of two worlds. This in combination with 120 litres of luggage space, truly combine extreme performance with everyday usability.

But let’s not forget about the speed! The 2013 model features new Aircore hollow carbon fiber wheels, upgraded power and enhanced aerodynamics resulting in an incredible top speed of approximately 440 km/h (273  mph).
Could this be the number 1 supercar of 2013?

SSC Ultimate Aero XT

If you are unfamiliar with SSC they are the company formerly known as Shelby Super Cars. SSC have only released one extreme supercar to date, but with their multiple award winning Ultimate Aero setting the standard, rather than watching the Aero drive away into the sunset, they are actually bringing us another gem for 2013 with the ‘SSC Ultimate Aero XT‘!
The model will be a special edition of the Ultimate Aero which means if you blink you might just miss it as there will only be a small number of examples built and of course it will be one of the fastest cars in the world!
It sprints to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 2.65 seconds and hits 322 km/h (200 mph) in just 15.65 seconds, which is a new wold record. It also screams to 100 mph in 11.25 seconds. This monster has a projected top speed of 273 mph, but get this…it has only been tested up to just over 250 mph!!
Watch out for this one!

Koenigsegg CCX

We are back with Koenigsegg with their second car in our coverage of the top ten supercars in the world and it’s another beauty with the Koenigsegg CCX.
Ok, it might not be the most eye catching or elegant of our super cars but it still does the business and for many of us petrol heads that’s all we want is it not?
The performance of this car is staggering, as shown on the famous BBC program, Top Gear, where the CCX took the lap record ahead of the traditional, more famous supercar competition. The record-breaking CCX was developed to deliver superior performance – both on the track and on the road. The model is less good looking than it’s partner in crime the Agera but it does maintain the distinctive CC shape and it has enhanced its unique appearance with tighter lines and a more aggressive stance.

McLaren F1

The Mclaren F1 is so much more than a supercar. It is regarded in the automotive industry as the car that has the most impeccable engineering of our time, making a stable mark in history and taking supercars to a whole new level!
For a very long time, the McLaren F1 had been the world’s fastest car, and even now, it is still very difficult to beat. Zero to 62 mph comes at 3.2 seconds, zero to 100 miles per hour comes at 6.3 seconds, and a top speed of almost 248 mph are some of its performance numbers. But this car is more than just that. The McLaren F1 has set a standard in the sports car industry. Featuring many innovative techniques that had been way ahead of its time, it is one of the greatest cars ever built.
If you think this car is good, Mclaren are in the process of producing the P1 model which is set to make more waves in the sportscar world. There have been a number of leaked pictures on the web, and although it won’t be in production until late 2013 it is definitely something to get excited for. Keep coming back to top10supercars.com to keep an eye on the P1s progress.

Zenvo ST1

When we say the word ‘mean’ in the supercar world, this is exactly what we mean! The Danish made Zenvo ST1 is one of the meanest cars on the road with it’s angry looking stare.
Denmark are well known for their cutting edge in design and for the first time they have applied their magic touch to a supercar and they haven’t let us down. The Zenvo ST1 is incredible!
Don’t think that this car just looks mean though, it’s got real bite behind that face.
It’s raw power is supplied from a 7 litre V8 engine with both a supercharger and a turbo. The Zenvo ST1 develops 1.104 BHP of power which is controlled at the flick of a switch. Producing a massive 1.430 NM of torque. It’s a monster!

Gumpert Apollo

The Gumpert Apollo is ‘the fast and the furious’ edition to the top 10 supercar list. It is actually made by the former Audi engineer Roland Gumpert who produces the high-dollar, high-performance, gullwinged Apollo supercar that is essentially a race car for the street! It is a car that puts speed and grip above all else which is reflected in it’s aerodynamic styling but the Apollo can easily be confused with a luxury car as it’s leather and suede interior wrap nearly every surface merely hide the light-weight carbon fiber of the car.

Under the hood, the new 2013 Gumpert Apollo Enraged is powered by a 4.2 liter V8 twin-turbo engine that delivers a total of 780 HP and a peak torque of 678 lb-ft. It sprints from 0 to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds and to 124 mph in just 8.7 seconds.

Aston Martin One 77

Every man on the planet would simply love to own an Aston Martin simply because… well, It has been the recent car of James Bond, and if it is good enough for 007 it is certainly good enough to have an entry in the top ten supercars list. We aren’t looking at the Bonds DB9 but the crazy powerful and very rare Aston Martin One-77.

As with every Aston Martin products, this one is stunning and stylish in every category, from exterior styling to power. What makes the One-77 different is how they have fused advanced technology with a stunning design to create possibly the world’s most desirable automotive art form.

As with most of these cars on our list, most of us won’t get the chance to get our hands on them in our lifetime, but perhaps even more so is the One-77. For a start the price, which is – get ready for this – $1.4 million. If you are lucky enough to have this amount of money then we congratulate you and hate you at the same time, but you should get a move on if you want to drive one of these machines as only 77 were made in 2011!

Lamborghini Aventador

“If you want to be someone you buy a Ferrari – If you are someone you own a Lamborghini.” Apparently that’s what music superstar Frank Sinatra said when he got his Miura in 1969, and he might not be too wrong as Ferrari don’t actually make our prestigious list of supercars but the Lamborghini Aventador is right up there!

The Aventador is Lamborghini’s latest tarmac-grade V12 weapons system that replaces the 10-year-old Murcielago. It’s also the fastest production car that has ever come out of Lamborghini’s factory in the small rural town of Sant’Agata Bolognese in Italy.

Lamborghini does things differently to most other supercar manufacturers; it likes to push the envelope, both from a design sense and a technological standpoint. What they have created in the Aventador is the supercar of the future for the here and now. It’s the definition of extreme in the automotive world and wherever you look, inside or outside this car, boundaries have been pushed well beyond the current benchmarks. Lamborghini calls it ‘the new reference among super sports cars’.
